Recovering from a nightmare. I accidentally deleted all the backup data on my NAS, It was setup for a 2 way sync so my primary drive with ~ 4TB of data was trimmed down to ~1.5TB of data before I noticed and pulled the plug. Aftermath I lost all my pictures and backup for the past 3 years, as I was kicking myself and searching for ways to recover lost data I found "PhotoRec". It's been running for the past 32 hours and recovering file by file, fingers crossed! Hope I will get all the files back then the fun of sorting them will begin as it wont be able to recover the metadata. Painful experience but a good learning curve and a great lesson to backup your data and think twice before deleting :)
